Still Here
20 years ownership of SY Musketelle says something about both
of us as custodians of the vessel and the vessel herself. The former can be accused of not keeping this blog updated when the good ship Musketelle has done nothing to
deserve such treatment.
But make no mistake the relationship is still alive and well
even if both are aging gracefully. For everything
this beautiful girl has delivered for us we are figuratively speaking joined at
the gunnel with a clear understanding Musketelle owes us not one centime.
In saying that we continue to lavish special attention on
her with regular haul outs and for the last 7 years she has had her own dedicated
berth at Marsden Cove Marina near Whangarei Heads in Northland NZ.
Admittedly we do not sail her as much as we used to even
though we are toying with a last hoorah before maybe passing her on to a new
suitor.
Since last blogging we must regretfully inform ships cat
Wifi passed away in 2023 ending a unique story of the wild Turkish Kedi that adopted us in Marmaris in 2009
convincing us to join the crew of Musketelle and bring her to a new home in Yeni
Zelanda.
